Mad love writing workshop

  • Madly In Love: A Space of Kindness and Empathy

Madly In Love is more than just a writing workshop; it's an opportunity to reframe the narrative around mental illness and neurodivergence. Our mission is to hold ourselves and our madness in kindness and empathy, fostering an environment where individuals can unabashedly love themselves as Mad persons or love someone who is Mad.

  • The Workshop in a Nutshell

During our workshop, participants will have the chance to write love letters to themselves, their madness, or someone they love who is Mad. It's a powerful exercise that allows emotions to flow freely, without judgment. We encourage participants to embrace all their feelings, whether positive or challenging, in their love letters.

  • Understanding the Interplay

Our project encourages participants to understand the interplay between madness, trauma, psychic distress, disability, and the transformative power of love. We believe that this understanding is vital in breaking down stereotypes and promoting a more inclusive and compassionate community.

  • Next Steps: Engage and Learn

To prepare for the workshop, we invite you to watch videos that explain key concepts and provide inspiration for writing your letters, as well as get to know the founder of the movement. These resources will guide you in exploring new perspectives on mental illness and madness.

  • A Collaborative Revolution

"Madly In Love" is a collaborative project aimed at rethinking how we perceive mental illness and madness. Traditionally, these topics have been stigmatized and pathologized, but we aim to change that narrative. Our goal is to create a safe and affirming space where Mad people are seen as valid and valuable.

  • Spreading the Message: De-stigmatizing Mental Illness through Love

We invite you to join us in hosting and co-promoting and hosting our "Madly In Love" writing workshop. Your support will help us reach a wider audience and create a more inclusive and compassionate society for Mad individuals.

Together, we can promote social change, challenge stigmas, and create a Mad-positive community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
